LG G Flex: First Looks

LG showcased its first curved display smartphone, the LG Flex, in India, within two months since its global debut in October. While the phone has been announced for the Indian market, it will not hit store shelves until February 2014. The company has not yet revealed the price, but has hinted that it could be an expensive deal. LG says the phone could be priced somewhere between Rs 60,000 and Rs 65,000.
Coming to the hardware of the G Flex, it is powered by a quad-core 2.26GHz Snapdragon 800 (MSM8974) processor with an Adreno 330 GPU, and 2GB of RAM. The G Flex easily handled multitasking with ease, and the apps opened and closed instantaneously. Performance wise, the G Flex fared well in our limited testing.
The G Flex sports a 13-megapixel rear camera, and a 2.1-megapixel front-facing camera. During our usage, the camera app opened instantly and did click at good speed without any shutter lag. The G Flex is powered by a 3,500mAh battery and weighs 177 grams. The LG G Flex comes with 32GB inbuilt storage, which is non-expandable.
The LG G Flex runs Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, which is a disappointment as we expected LG to ship Android 4.3, the most recent iteration of the OS with the phone. However, with LG finally revealing plans for rolling out the Android 4.4 KitKat update for the flagship smartphone, the G2, we expect that the G Flex will also get the KitKat treatment soon.
lg-g-flex-front-sides-635.jpgOn the software department, the G Flex borrows many things from the G2. The company has added the same LG G2 UI layer on top of the G Flex, majorly changing the look and feel of the interface and enabling users to customise the phone according to their liking.

Samsung Galaxy S5 -(The Next Galaxy) Could Look Like

Samsung Galaxy S5 is going to be the most talked about smartphone in coming months as its release date approaches. I’m sure that it will jump over the popularity level of every event happened so far. Let me start explaining our Galaxy S5 concept from its most glowing part.

Any guesses? It’s display. The concept has flexible display that wraps around the edges. To be precise, Galaxy S5 concept created by us has Flexible OLED YOUM Display that is of 5.3-inches in size. This display technology will change the way you use the smartphone. Yeah, you’ll get a totally unique display experience. This flexible display has oleophobic coating which makes it even more eye-popping.
Talking about the inner hardware specifications of the concept made by us, the best eye-catching part is processor. There is 2GHz Exynos 5 OctaCore processor which is meant to deliver a smooth experience. The users will be able to do whatever they want, at a blazing speed. Most of concepts of Galaxy S5 claim that this smartphone will have Android Key Lime Pie version, but we are different here. We believe that this device will come up with the recently announced Android 4.4 Kitkat OS.
In the imaging part, there is a 16MP Primary Camera in the device. What makes this camera unique is its Carl Ziess lens. To allow you to shoot perfect moments, the primary camera has got Samsung’s own S:Vision sensor. To drop a better light on the object so as to click the high-quality image in low light or dark areas, there is Xenon Flash placed right on the top of lenses. The front camera is of 3.2MP which shoots HD videos of 720p quality.

Apple iPhone 6 With Bigger iPad12.9-inch Display Coming in 2014

Apple CEO Tim Cook hinted on “some big plans that we think customers are going to love”, in a long memo that was sent to Apple employees this week.
In a office memo Cook said “We have a lot to look forward to in 2014, including some big plans h that we think customers are going to love” which is being taken as hint towards big screen phones and tablet launches for the next year. Recently we heard rumours of a 6-inch iPhone 6 and 12.9 inch iPad. The memo of Tim Cook seems to be just in time confirmed bigger launches for the next year.
According to sources from Digitimes (sources from the upstream supply chain) this year reported on a 6 inch iPhone 6 that will use a “20 nm processor manufactured by the Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company”. This has also been reported in Forbes. Another news that refers to an analysis by Nikkei Electronics' revealed that Samsung manufactured A7 processor for iPhone 5S and might also be working on the A8 processor.
Though the cloud over who’s making the processor chips for Apple processors is yet not clear, a bigger iPhone next year seems to be confirmed. A Macrumour report says this iPhone 6 could get  released in May 2014, which it says “would be somewhat of a surprising move by Apple”. These are rumoured for a later time in 2014.
A bigger iPad with 12.9 inch display is also expected in 2014. Some are calling it iPad Pro and some have named it iPad Max. How will Apple name its bigger iPad is still a surprise. “This iPad Max will be a defacto laptop with the addition of new cases with integrated keyboards and batteries and could become a mainstay for high schools and college students” says a Forbes report this weak.

Nokia has been building its
own Android phone
according to multiple
sources familiar with the
company’s plans.

The Android handset will be the next step in Nokia’s low-end smartphone line with access to a wider range of apps.
An image of the Android Nokia phone was released by notorious tech tipster @evleaks in December, showing  a Lumia-styled device with no capacitive navigation buttons.
